**Effective, August 16, 2024, the Instrument of Student Judicial Governance is superseded by the Student Code of Conduct and Student Conduct Procedures. Conduct occurring prior to this effective date will be referred through the Honor System and Honor Code process for resolution, as reflected under "Implementation and Effective Date" within the Student Conduct Procedures.**
The Student Code of Conduct embraces the ideals of academic honesty, personal integrity, and responsible citizenship that are essential to the University community. This Student Code of Conduct provides expectations and standards for Students.
The University Alcohol Policy promotes the public health approach to cultivate an environment encouraging healthy and responsible behaviors and promoting the safety and well-being of Carolina community members. This policy establishes standards and regulations regarding alcohol use, including behaviors that would be addressed through the Student Conduct Procedures.
The Instrument of Student Judicial Governance
The University Honor Code is located within the Instrument of Student Judicial Governance and serves as the regulation of academic integrity and non-academic misconduct. This document also outlines the adjudication procedures for addressing Honor Code violations and lists possible sanctions. The Honor Code is effective for conduct occurring prior to the implementation and effective date of the Student Code of Conduct.
Allegations of protected status, including sexual violence and harassment, are addressed through the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office. Any such allegations reported to Student Conduct will be referred to Equal Opportunity and Compliance (EOC) for review under applicable policies.
